Finding Your Confidence In God

Posted by Support CWIB on

Sometimes, we, as women, find ourselves lacking and wanting. We may doubt that we are following our purpose when we experience a setback in our business, or at home, or in our relationships with our children and significant other, or when things do not go as planned.

When we do not reach the goals we have set for ourselves. Or our business is not going as it should. We experience guilt about time away from our children, husband and other family. We may start doubting ourselves, our purpose and we start to wonder if all these sacrifices we are making are really worth our while. Self-doubt, low self-esteem and low self-confidence may set in, as well as a general sense of no value.

But let us look at a few God truths.

Accepted: Accept yourself and what you can do. Be happy and content with who you are. Be proud of what you do in your business and know what you are doing is good and fulfilling God’s purpose in your life

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”  Romans 15:7

Wonderfully made: God does not make failures or make mistakes. You are wonderfully made in His image and He has given you many wonderful gifts and talents to use in your business to praise Him.

“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”   Psalm 139:14

Chosen: You have been gifted just the right message, capabilities, gifts, talents and knowledge to run your business. God has given you the dreams and goals to pursue. He has chosen you to be on His team and to fulfill the purpose He has for you. Hold on to your vision to praise Him in your business and serve others while you run your business.

“As you come to Him, the living Stone - rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to Him - 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, then you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”   2 Peter 4-5, 9

Provided for: You are provided for.  God provides for you so you can also provide for others. All we have to do is to ask. We can ask God to provide for someone else, too! If we have nothing to offer, we can ask God to provide for that person. We can ask the limitless God of the universe, who promises to provide for us.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”  Philippians 4:6

Enough: As women, we relentlessly push ourselves to be and do more.  Yet we need to believe that we are enough, in God’s eyes. We do not need to give in to the pressures or lies of the world which tell us we are not enough. You are enough and what you do is enough.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through knowledge of him.”  2 Peter 1:3

Empowered: We have received spiritual power from God. The power that is ours through Christ is limitless and indestructible. We have this power every day to do God’s purpose through our businesses. Every day we need to rely on God and seek His will in our businesses to empower others.

“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you…"

“His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength, He exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavily realms.”  Ephesians 1:18-20

When we remember God’s truths and promises for us we can find our confidence, value and self-esteem in God. God works through you in gifts, talents and unique qualities or knowledge. Your vision, dreams, for your business based on the truths He has planted in hour heart, gives you the guidance to fulfill His purpose through your business.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will”  Romans 12:2

Take hold of what you think, meditate and dwell your thoughts on. For every stumble block you experience try to find the God truth in the answer and focus on that and in the renewing of your mind.

Give your self-limiting beliefs to God, ask God to show you the truth and belief in Him to change the way you think about these limiting beliefs.

When you experience a setback in your business or a client that is difficult, or negative rumours about you or your  business. Take whatever you need to learn from it and do not dwell on the negativity anymore. Give it to God and find His God truths for you in the situation.

Remember the clear role you play in your business and why you are doing it.

When you start to think differently, everything changes. Stumbling blocks become opportunities.

A few points you can think of in renewing your mind:

  1. Write three truly exciting things you see through your vision or dreams. For example:
    • I am a caring mother and wife.
    • I do care for others outside of my household and would like to add value to their lives and uplift them through my business.
    • I would like to share God’s love with everyone I come into contact with.
  1. How often are you thinking or dwelling on situations or on people that are nagging you?
  1. List 5 negative thoughts you dwell on.
  1. List 3 fears / worries you have and explain.
  1. Review the above and think where did many of your fears or thoughts originate from.
  1. What do you think are the God truths in relation to these fears?
  1. How big of a difference can the truth make in your life?
  1. Do you relate to the God truth?
  1. Does it give you a better life to live/goal to strive for in your business/life?

Trust what God is working within you.

"(God) teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie” - 1 John 2:27
